TONY BLAIR PRAISES MFC IN THE COMMUNITY
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair paid a visit to Middlesbrough Football Community Centre on Thursday 15th November.
Mr.Blair was in the region to launch his sports foundation aiming to increase sporting opportunities for young people in the North East.
Mr.Blair wanted to find out more about how MFC in the Community engages with the local community. He was met by MFCitC Chairman, George Cooke who introduced his staff. Mr. Blair then joined the children from Caldicotes Primary School for some fitness training and coaching.

Mr. Blair was full of praise for the scheme saying " Middlesbrough is a market leader for this type of activity. There are thousands of kids in this area who in one way or another get touched by what Middlesbrough is doing and that is fantastic."
Mr Blair went on to add "What Middlesbrough Football Club is doing here is amazing, probably as good if not better than anything else in the country."
TONY BLAIR SAMPLES NEW ASTRO TURF
Mr.Blair was one of the first people to play on Middlesbrough Football Club in the Community's new 3G astro-turf pitch. The refurbishment of the Herlingshaw Education Centre was completed last week.
The refurbishment was funded by the Football Foundation and there will be an official launch in the New Year.
