About SEAL

Middlesbrough Football Club in the Community has linked with Middlesbrough Council to Pilot a new approach to teaching and learning called SEAL (Social & Emotional Aspect of Learning).

SEAL is a major change in the priorities of the development of children; it is an application of Every Child Matters and the Respect agendas.  It has been deemed necessary because a large and increasing numbers of young people are struggling to cope in our society.  SEAL emphasises that to succeed in the 21st century young people will need to be effective in: Communication skills, Cognitive skills, Self-awareness, Managing emotions, Motivation, Effective Learning, Empathy and Social skills.
