Work it Out

The Enterprise Academy is dedicated in raising the aspirations of young people across the Tees Valley. This includes helping students to realise their employability skills and gain the background knowledge in applying for jobs and searching for vacancies which are suitable to their aspirations.

We are able to continue to offer this course but at present it does not offer any qualifications. 

Please see Ready, Steady Work for a new level 1 or 2 qualification accredited by OCR.

The Enterprise Academy values the young people of the Tees Valley and aims to provide them with the best opportunities for adulthood.
Preparation for Employment is a recognized qualification through OCR and can be delivered at Level 1 or 2 depending on the ability of students.
Students work with one of our dedicated tutors throughout a number of weeks progressing step by step through a workbook, aided by worksheets with the long term aim of helping students learn about the working world and the responsibilities which go with it.
Preparation for employment allows learners to understand the following:

*Rules and Responsibilities of the Workplace
*Grievances within the Workplace
*Hazards, Health and Safety and Accidents
*Maternity, Sickness and Holidays
*Equal Opportunities and Trade Unions
*Organisation of a Workplace

The Enterprise Academy feels this course gives learners a head start when entering the world of work and has gained positive feedback from those who have received this qualification

This qualification can be delivered at Level 1 or 2 depending on the ability of students. Students will work through 4 units with dedicated EnterpriseAcademy staff. All qualifications are supported by workbooks further aided by worksheets.
