Success Stories
Amy - Retail Assistant, Bliss/Joi
Amy joined our e2e programme as she was vocationally confused. She had completed part of a qualification in Racehorse care but was unsure if she wanted to pursue it further. She was offered a work placement at a local stable but wanted to sample retail as an alternative.
Amy’s placement was at Bliss and its sister store Joi. Within weeks Amy had established an excellent working relationship with her managers and feedback was fantastic, leading to the company offering her a full time position. Amy loves the work and did not hesitate to take the job.
Amy was also our first successful learner to pass the Functional Skills qualifications.
Anthony – Sealtight Windows, Apprentice Window Fitter
Anthony worked to successfully complete BOTH his Application of Number and Communications Level 1 qualifications whilst on programme!
He found his own long term placement at a local garage where he gained valuable experience in customer service skills and team work. He went on to secure a further placement with Sealtight Windows where he improved both his employability skills and his communication skills.
His success on this placement resulted in his being offered an apprenticeship in window fitting with the company proving that hard work and reliability pay off. Great work Anth!

Jason Walker – Accent, Construction course
Whilst on the e2e programme with us, Jason was “vocationally confused” quite unsure what he wanted to do as a career. After sampling a work taster as a Coach’s Assistant, Jason decided that working in Sport and Leisure was not the career path for him.
He decided he’d like to learn a “trade” and used the IAG facilities and one to one support available in centre to research the Construction industry. Following a group visit to Accent Jason felt this was the course for him and successfully gained a place on their course.
Jason completed a Level 1 Key Skills qualification in Communications before progressing to Accent.
Jason is now learning bricklaying skills and picking up general construction knowledge whilst working towards a Level 1 qualification in Construction skills.
Well done Jason!!
Jonathan McQuade – Assistant Coach
Jonathan put a lot of effort towards his qualifications and completed Key Skills qualifications in Application of Number and in Communications, both at Level 1.
Jonathan sampled a work taster as a retail assistant, however after a trial period of 4 weeks he decided that retail was not the path for him and applied for a work placement with The Cornerhouse Youth Project as a Youth Work Assistant. Jonathan did very well at this placement and received excellent feedback, which led to him being offered a position on work placement with Middlesbrough Football Club in the Community coaching staff.
Jonathan’s hard work and commitment led to him being offered work supporting Middlesbrough Football Club in the Community staff with the “matchday club” at weekends, providing him with the opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities and was offered full-time hours as a coaches assistant. Well done Jonathan!

Whilst on the e2e programme with us, Danny accessed a work placement with the Southlands Centre where his duties included meeting and greeting customers, equipment maintenance, setting up sessions, re-stocking vending machines and general housekeeping and maintenance. Danny thoroughly enjoyed his work placement but unfortunately the centre did not have enough funding to offer him paid employment. Danny feels he gained valuable experience and confidence.
After receiving one to one support and guidance from our IAG worker, Danny decided to try warehousing. After taking part in a work taster at the British Heart Foundation warehouse, Danny applied for an apprenticeship in warehousing with JHP and was accepted immediately.
After completing a qualification at Entry Level 3 in Numeracy, Danny left the course and progressed onto JHP’s programme, where he continues to work excellently and we regularly receive great feedback.

We are very proud of Danny’s success and have no doubt he will continue to go from strength to strength.

Demi really wanted to work in hospitality, so worked on a work placement at the Hop and Grape in Redcar, where she did so well the employer offered her part time weekend work.
Demi wanted to take this career path further and applied for an apprenticeship with Rathbone training. Demi was successful and continues to work at her part time job as well as her apprenticeship.
