Footwork
Footwork
Good footwork is an important base for a goalkeeper start from. If a keeper posses quick feet, they can easily get themselves into position to make difficult to save shots easier to save, rather than having to dive the width of the goal, a goalkeeper can use their footwork to make shots easier to reach.
Good goalkeepers make every save, even the most difficult ones look easier than they are, and the key to that is good footwork.
Footwork Key Skills.
As the game and field of play changes every second so should the goalkeepers position. The feet of a good goalkeeper are constantly in motion, and they move on the balls of the feet. If a keeper has the weight on their heels this is the beginning of problems and will lead to restricted movement.
It restricts the ability to jump, shuffle across the line, movement forward and backwards. Not only does this keep them from moving quickly effectively to a ball, but it has bad effects on their diving and jumping. Your keeper should have their feet moving, making sure you keep your weight forward.
